How the fit is worked out
- Foot length comes from the US Brannock size scale (men's: foot length in inches = (size + 22) ÷ 3; women's size = men's size + 1.5).
- Ball width, ball girth, heel width and ball position come from the US Army ANSUR II foot measurements of 4,082 men and 1,986 women, averaged for your foot length.
- Each width step changes ball width by 4.8 mm and ball girth by 6.35 mm (standard Brannock and last-grading steps). Heel width stays the same.
- Inside room added: 12 mm in front of the toes, 3 mm across the ball, 5 mm around the ball, 2 mm at the heel.
Printing
- Material: TPU 95A. Wall 2 mm, sole 6 mm with 1.5 mm grooves, flat footbed (no arch support, zero drop).
- Most shoe sizes are longer than 256 mm, so standard printers (Bambu P1/X1, Prusa MK4) are too small. You need a bed of about 330 mm or more, or you print standing on the heel on a tall printer.
- Printed flat on the sole, the roof of the toe box needs support inside the shoe.
